About The Position

As a Part-Time Instructor in Laboratory Techniques (Biotechnology), you are responsible for transmitting your knowledge to students, designing course content and assessing learning outcomes. This is a contract position for the Laboratory Techniques (Biotechnology) Program (210.AA) located at the LaSalle College - Montreal Campus and/or Laval Campus.

Requirements

  • Hold a bachelor’s or master’s degree in biotechnology, biochemistry, microbiology, biology, chemistry or a related field
  • Have a minimum of two (2) years of relevant experience in a laboratory or in the biotechnology sector
  • Proficiency in instrumental analysis techniques, cell cultures, bioprocesses and fermentation
  • Knowledge of Good Laboratory Practices (GLP), Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), WHMIS and biosafety
  • Proficiency in all Microsoft Office programs and applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Teams, etc.) and generative AI tools (GenAI)
  • Proficiency in French language (spoken and written)
  • Professional proficiency in English language (spoken and written)

Nice To Haves

  • Having taught a complete course in the last five (5) years is an asset

Responsibilities

  • Plan course sessions
  • Deliver courses in a dynamic, effective and structured manner
  • Design formative and summative assessments using a competency-based approach
  • Grade assessments and provide feedback to students
  • Offer personalized follow-up and support student academic success
  • Be available to address students’ pedagogical needs
  • Participate in the continuous improvement of the program and departmental activities
