About The Position

The USF College of Nursing is seeking a full-time, non-tenure-track Instructor I to join its clinical/teaching faculty. The primary focus is undergraduate instruction, with responsibilities that may include graduate-level teaching, mentoring students, serving on committees, participating in community engagement, and acting as a liaison with clinical sites (which may require travel). Teaching may occur across USF’s three campuses: Tampa, St. Petersburg, and Sarasota-Manatee. Faculty are also expected to contribute to curriculum development, service, and scholarly activities appropriate to the rank of Instructor I. In-person presence during standard business hours is required. Remote work option is not available for this position.

Requirements

  • Master's degree from an accredited institution in an appropriate field of specialization or equivalent qualifications based on professional experience and otherwise qualified to perform assigned duties.
  • Must meet university criteria for appointment to the rank of Instructor.
  • Four years of direct experience for a bachelor’s degree (Degree Equivalency Clause).
  • Must hold, or be eligible for, licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) or Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) in the state of Florida by the start date.
  • Must meet university criteria for appointment at the rank of Instructor I (non-tenure earning).
  • Minimum of two years of direct patient care clinical experience.

Nice To Haves

  • Doctoral degree in Nursing (DNP or PhD).
  • Minimum of three years of classroom and clinical teaching experience.
  • A broad range of clinical knowledge and expertise in various settings or specialty areas.
  • Local, state, or national leadership in a nursing professional organization.
  • Strong communication and technology skills, and experience in curriculum design and evaluation of program outcomes.
