About The Position

The Instructor I, Recreation | Mountain Biking position is responsible for providing a fun and positive learning environment for program participants. This position supports our after-school mountain biking program, which typically operates Monday through Thursday.

Requirements

• 18 years of age or older.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• The successful applicant must pass a required pre-employment background check and subsequent mandatory background checks in accordance with current District policy requirements.
• Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services.
• Ability to learn new activities and tasks; accept and adapt to change.
• Ability to manage difficult situations when needed, such as injury, illness, and disruption.
• Ability to exhibit good leadership qualities, sound judgment, and integrity; accept guidance willingly.

Nice To Haves

• Knowledge of sports, fitness, aquatics, and recreational activities.
• CPR and First Aid certifications within four (4) weeks of hire.

Responsibilities

• Provide developmentally age-appropriate instruction to program participants.
• Ensure the safety of participants at all times.
• Communicate with staff and program participants in a clear and respectful manner.
• Register and receive payment from drop-in participants and issue proper receipts.
• Assist participants in the case of injury or illness.
• Encourage respect for other participants, personal property, camp equipment, and facilities.
