About The Position

The Department of Human Nutrition, Hospitality and Sport Management, a growing Department with a thriving faculty, seeks to fill a full-time non-tenure track renewable contract instructor position in Human Nutrition to teach core classes in nutrition. The Department is one of five in the College of Human Environmental Sciences (CHES) at The University of Alabama. We offer an undergraduate degree in Food and Nutrition, a Graduate Coordinated Program in Dietetics, and a Didactic Program in Dietetics. Additionally, the Department offers a MS and PhD in Human Nutrition.

Requirements

• MS in Nutrition, Dietetics, or a closely-related field from an accredited four-year college or university (required)
• Registered Dietitian (required)
• Must have completed at least 18 hours of graduate level nutrition courses.
• Evidence of the ability to teach at the collegiate level.

Nice To Haves

• Foodservice management and/or clinical management experience desired.
• The ideal candidate will bring both academic knowledge and practical experience to the classroom.

Responsibilities

• Teach courses at the undergraduate and/or graduate levels to support the nutrition programs as needed in one or more of the following areas: nutrition, leadership and management, entrepreneurship, and food service management.
• Recruit, mentor, and advise students.
• Serve on Department, College, and University committees.
