About The Position

The College of Southern Nevada (CSN) is seeking applicants for a full-time, tenure-track position at the rank of Instructor of Graphic Communications, beginning in Spring 2027. The Graphic Communications Program is designed to prepare students for careers in the design field by focusing on client- and industry-based practices. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching five undergraduate courses per semester in areas such as Graphic Design, Adobe Creative Suite, and Motion graphics and UI/UX design. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Graphic Design, Visual Communication, New Media, or related field (must be obtained by time of appointment).

Nice To Haves

  • College-level teaching experience and/or a record of client-based, industry experience.
  • Teaching experience in a college setting.
  • Demonstrated expertise in three or more of the following graphic communications areas: typography, digital imaging, visual/design fundamentals, conceptual design, layout design, illustration, print production and prepress, image manipulation, art direction, design history/theory, storyboarding, motion graphics, broadcast graphics, interaction/interactive communications design, instructional design, or related areas.
  • Experience with current industry standard tools is preferred, including Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, After Effects, Premiere Pro, and comparable applications such as Canva, Blender, or Cinema 4D.
  • Knowledge of Unreal Engine or similar software.

  • Teach five undergraduate courses per semester in Graphic Design, Adobe Creative Suite, and Motion graphics and UI/UX design.
