About The Position

The 32BJ Training Fund is seeking qualified part-time adult education instructor candidates in one or more of our training locations, including remote online classes. SEIU 32BJ is a service union that represents cleaners, maintenance workers, service staff, and security officers in the New York City area and nine other states on the East Coast. Our mission is to educate every member so that they have the tools they need to meet the challenges of a changing industry.

Requirements

• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to interact with students from a variety of linguistic and cultural backgrounds
• Able to use digital platforms to instruct, communicate, and record program data.
• Appropriate license or certification required for some courses.
• Record of completed COVID-19 vaccine or confirmed medical/religious exemption
• Compliance with current COVID-19 protocols of the organization

Responsibilities

• Plan and implement lesson plans aligned to program curriculum, incorporating provided educational materials
• Teach content with a student-centered approach
• Implement, adapt, and supplement lessons plans from our curriculum
• Maintain and submit records of attendance
• Maintain ongoing communication with supervisor
• Participate in applicable professional development activities as available
