About The Position

This is a full-time temporary position for an Instructor in the Dental Therapy program at the Regina Campus. The role involves providing didactic and clinical instruction, supervising students, maintaining knowledge of current dental practices and adult education principles, developing curriculum, and performing program administration and dental therapy services as required. The position is for 199 days per academic year, with specific hours for student contact and overall annual hours.

Requirements

  • Graduate of a Dental Therapy Program.
  • Eligible for registration and licensure as a dental therapist in Saskatchewan.
  • Related baccalaureate degree (or be working toward completion of a related degree).
  • A minimum of five (5) years of recent clinical experience, including at least (3) years serving as a subject matter expert in Dental Therapy, in accordance with the Dental Therapist scope of practice.
  • Training in educational theory and methodology.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Effective instructional ability.
  • Effective interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated valuing diversity.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience practicing as a dentist will be considered.

Responsibilities

  • Provide didactic and clinical instruction and assessment of performance in the Dental Therapy programs through lectures, seminars, and/or labs.
  • Supervise and evaluate students in clinical settings.
  • Maintain comprehensive knowledge of current dental principles, procedures and techniques and the principles of adult education.
  • Develop and maintain course curriculum.
  • Conduct various aspects of program administration as required.
  • Provide dental therapy services as required.
