About The Position

We are seeking a passionate and enthusiastic data professional to join our instructional team and help lead our Data & Analytics program. As a faculty program lead, you will provide instruction to students, assess student learning, and develop and maintain program curriculum to keep our courses industry relevant. Our courses are hands-on and practical, teaching students what they need to know to hit the ground running in data jobs on day one. Instruction delivery includes traditional face-to-face, accelerated hybrid, and virtual formats via Zoom, providing flexibility with daytime and occasional evening classes (up to two nights weekly). In this role, you will actively engage with industry leaders through regular interactions with our advisory board and local employers, ensuring the curriculum aligns with evolving industry standards and workforce needs. This position supports the Business Information Technology department and includes program lead responsibilities for the Data & Analytics program in addition to teaching responsibilities. The program lead helps maintain the quality, relevance, and effectiveness of the program in consultation with the associate dean and the faculty who teach within the program. The Program Lead plays an important role in helping the program stay current, relevant, and responsive to students and industry. In partnership with the Associate Dean and program faculty, this role supports curriculum updates, student success efforts, advisory board and employer engagement, adjunct onboarding, program evaluation, recruitment activities, and ongoing conversations about emerging tools, trends, and opportunities for program growth.

  • Strong customer service skills which includes working with individuals from diverse backgrounds
  • Ability to manage time, organize work and meet deadlines
  • Ability to effectively integrate technology into instructional delivery and assessment
  • Ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships with internal (staff, management, personnel) and external contacts (employers, clients, and vendors)
  • Ability to apply critical thinking and problem-solving skills to work and/or the improvement of processes and/or systems
  • Ability to work independently, as part of a team, and/or with minimal supervision
  • Ability to prioritize work and adapt to changing priorities
  • Intermediate level of proficiency with computer software applications such as word processing, database, spreadsheet, and presentation programs.
  • Knowledge of and familiarity with video-conferencing and technologies associated with adult-centric teaching and learning, as well as within specific programmatic disciplines, which may include web technologies, operating systems, online program tracking platforms, social media platforms, mobile technology tools, and/or AV/multimedia applications and equipment.
  • Adept at problem-solving and troubleshooting technical errors.
  • In-depth knowledge of SQL, data modeling/database design, database administration, data warehousing, data visualization/reporting, and data analysis.
  • Seven (7) years of experience in a data-related career.
  • One year of experience teaching technical IT courses.
  • Bachelor’s degree or above in any of the following areas (or any reasonably related area): Computer Science, Management Information Systems [MIS], Information Technology, Data Science, Business/Data Analytics.
  • Attain and maintain a WTCS teaching certificate.
  • Wisconsin residence.
  • Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States at the time of hire and maintain that authorization through employment.
  • Verification of employment eligibility will be required upon hire.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain course curriculum.
  • Align curriculum to departmental, state, and/or other applicable standards and outcomes.
  • Plan, deliver and facilitate student learning, including providing ongoing quality feedback to students.
  • Assess student attainment of learning outcomes and critical life skills (both formative and summative), at the course, program, and college level.
  • Collect, report, analyze, and use data to support continuous improvement at the course, program and college level.
  • Use technology to facilitate student learning, college processes, and personal productivity.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Participate as a productive member of a team.
  • Maintain college learning resources and equipment.
  • Participate in recruitment and retention activities.
  • Pursue ongoing professional development, maintain occupational competency, and ensure knowledge of current laws and regulations related to the profession(s) in which instruction is provided.
