About The Position

The Instructor/Counselor works as assistant manager for the ICF homes and will assist the Residential Manager in supervising a licensed ICF-IID program for individuals with intellectual disabilities, ensuring compliance with State License, Medicaid Waiver, ICF and CSB requirements, and Life Safety Code.

Requirements

High School Diploma / GED required.
Three years working with individuals with intellectual disabilities or an equivalent combination of education and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
Knowledge of working directly with individuals with intellectual disabilities.
Ability and knowledge to safely assist individuals with all aspects of physical management including equipment use, safe lifting and physical assistance.
Ability to utilize a computer system for electronic health records documentation.
Effective communication skills: written, verbally, person-to-person and through use of the telephone.
Ability to drive and must possess a valid driver’s license.
Ability to lift and transfer consumers up to an average of 50 to 80 pounds.
Ability to participate in and successfully pass behavioral intervention training, including verbal de-escalation skills and physical skills techniques.

Nice To Haves

Bachelor's degree in related human services.
Supervisory experience.

Responsibilities

Ensure compliance with State License, Medicaid Waiver, ICF and CSB requirements, and Life Safety Code.
Assist the Residential Manager in supervising the ICF homes.
Safely assist individuals with all aspects of physical management including equipment use, safe lifting and physical assistance.
Utilize a computer system for electronic health records documentation.
Respond quickly to correct situations that are deemed to be hazardous to consumers and home.
Participate in and successfully pass behavioral intervention training, including verbal de-escalation skills and physical skills techniques.
Work modified schedules (weekends, holiday, etc.) as required.
