About The Position

JMU's Youth Programs department is looking for instructors to teach exciting, educational courses for our summer College for Kids Program! This program provides an enriching, educational, and fun experience for rising K - 8th grade students! It gives children the chance to expand their horizons by exploring a topic of interest. Children will work with experts (JMU staff/students, teachers, etc.) to discover talents they never knew they had, explore new ideas/fields of study, and develop a new passion for learning! These positions begin around May 8th and end on June 12th. College for Kids is scheduled for June 8th - 12th. Our morning sessions run from 9:00 AM – 1:00 PM (instructors stay for lunch with their students) and afternoon sessions run from 1:00 PM – 4:00 PM each day. Ideally, we would love for our instructors to teach full days (both sessions) for the duration of the week. Please visit https://www.jmu.edu/pce/programs/all/youth-programs/programs/collegeforkids/index.shtml for some examples of this past winter's College for Kids sessions (please note, instructors are responsible for coming up with their own course content- these are just examples of past courses).
