The Aviation Mechanics Instructor position is an 11-month tenure-track faculty position with an anticipated start date of August 2026. The successful candidate will teach courses in the Aviation Airframe and Aviation Powerplant Mechanics programs. This position requires the effective teaching of diverse students, excellent oral and written communication skills, and a commitment to the comprehensive state college mission.

Requirements

  • Earned FAA certifications in the areas of Airframe and Power Plant Mechanics
  • At least six years of full-time experience or equivalent part-time experience in qualifying field
  • Meet the requirements of § 435.04(2), Florida Statutes, related to background investigations
  • Disclose any adverse information contained in the background investigation at the time of submitting the employment application

Nice To Haves

  • Associate degree or higher in Aviation Maintenance or a closely related field
