About The Position

Universal Technical Institute (UTI) is seeking an experienced Auto Technician to join their team as an Instructor. This role is ideal for someone who is a go-to expert for car-related questions and is looking for a leadership opportunity. UTI offers comprehensive training for individuals with the drive, patience, and skills, even if they have no prior teaching experience. The Auto Instructor will play a crucial role in educating students on small engines, diagnostics, and repair, utilizing a hands-on, interactive teaching approach to prepare them for careers in various industries.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED
• 3-5 years of practical work experience in the field
• ASE Certifications: A1, A6, G1
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, enabling you to effectively connect with students and fellow staff
• A patient and empathetic approach to teaching, understanding that every student learns at their own pace

Responsibilities

• Inspire and Educate: Create an engaging and inclusive learning environment where students can flourish, fostering their passion for auto mechanics while imparting your expert knowledge.
• Hands-On Training: Lead by example and provide practical demonstrations, ensuring students gain real-world experience in diagnosing, maintaining, and repairing small engines.
• Curriculum Development: Collaborate with our education team to enhance existing courses and develop new ones that align with industry trends and advancements.
• Mentorship: Guide and mentor students on their individual projects, encouraging them to think critically and find innovative solutions.
• Safety First: Instill the importance of safety procedures and best practices to ensure a secure working environment for students.
