About The Position

The University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) College of Nursing (CON) is seeking a dedicated and experienced nursing faculty member to join our team. This position will primarily support teaching responsibilities within the concept-based Accelerated Bachelor of Science in Nursing (ABSN) program in Northwest Arkansas and Central Arkansas. The faculty member will also contribute to the scholarship and service missions of CON. This is a full-time, 12-month faculty appointment (Tenure-track or Non-tenure track).

Requirements

  • Master’s or higher degree in nursing required.
  • Current unencumbered RN or advanced practice nursing license with eligibility for licensure in Arkansas.
  • Two (2) years of minimum teaching experience in a baccalaureate nursing program.
  • Knowledge of medical laboratory science principles, practices, and accreditation standards.
  • Ability to effectively teach and mentor diverse student populations.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with faculty, staff, clinical partners, and students.
  • Proficiency in educational technologies and online learning platforms.
  • Ability to contribute to program assessment, curriculum development, and continuous quality improvement initiatives.
  • Commitment to professional growth, scholarship, and student success.
  • Proof of legal authority to work in the United States on the first day of employment.

Nice To Haves

  • Doctoral degree.
  • Experience with simulation or teaching in a concept-based curriculum.

Responsibilities

  • Oversees the day-to-day activities of the program.
  • Provides leadership in curricular development.
  • Contributes to strategic planning.
  • Oversees program evaluation.
  • Contributes to student recruitment and retention efforts.
  • Participates in accreditation and program reports and contributes to the development of academic policies.
