Essential Functions: Instruct middle school and/or high school program participants in academic or recreational activities during six-week summer program. Upward Bound Classic & Upward Bound Math & Science is looking for: High School English, Math, and Science teacher. Leadership : Responsible for directing and monitoring the work of student and/or temporary workers. Physical Requirements: Moderate physical effort required involving long periods of standing, walking on rough surfaces, bending and/or stooping; periodic lifting of moderately heavy items (over 25 lbs. -- 50 lbs.). Working Conditions: Standard working environment with possible minor inconveniences due to occasional noise, crowded working conditions and/or minor heating/cooling or ventilation problems. Near continuous use (>70% of the time) of a video display terminal. Additional Position Information: Education: Bachelor's Degree required for an Academic Class. Minimum of a High School Diploma for a Nonacademic Class. Qualifications: Requires a minimum of 6 months teaching experience. Experience with low-income first-generation students preferred.
