About The Position

This role assists the Director of Media and Instructional Technology in integrating technology across all K-12 content areas. The specialist will develop and deliver technology professional development, provide coaching and feedback to teachers, and disseminate information about technology. Responsibilities include maintaining logs of classroom and school visits, offering basic technical support for current technology programs and equipment, participating in the selection of technology-related instructional materials, researching new technology products and software, investigating effective technology learning tools and strategies, attending relevant district, local, and state meetings, and serving on district technology sub-committees as assigned. The role also includes performing other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

  • Proficiency in disseminating technology information.

  • Experience in examining, selecting, and/or adopting instructional materials related to technology.
  • Strong research skills for new technology products and software.
  • Knowledge of effective technology learning tools and strategies.
  • Willingness to participate in district, local, and state meetings.
  • Ability to serve on district technology sub-committees.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Director of Media and Instructional Technology to effectively integrate technology into all content areas in grades K-12.
  • Develop, plan and implement technology professional development using a variety of delivery methods.
  • Provide technology coaching and feedback for classroom teachers.
  • Disseminate information about technology with classroom teachers.
  • Retain a log of classroom and school visits.
  • Provide basic technical support for teachers on current technology programs and equipment.
  • Participate in the examination, selection, and/or adoption of textbooks and other instructional materials related to technology.
  • Research and keep updated on new technology products and software.
  • Investigate effective technology learning tools and strategies being implemented throughout the state and nation.
  • Participate in district, local and state meetings, as appropriate.
  • Serve as member of district technology sub-committees, as assigned by supervisor.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by supervisor.
