About The Position

The Instructional Technology Coach (ITC) is a site-based professional developer who collaborates with teachers to deliver professional learning experiences that foster effective technology integration. The coach leverages expertise in educational technology and a peer coaching approach to enhance teachers' ability to create rigorous, relevant, and engaging learning environments for all students. This role is crucial in bridging the gap between the school and technical services, ensuring a smooth digital learning experience.

Requirements

  • Hold a valid Virginia teaching license.
  • Successfully completed a minimum of three years of full-time teaching in a K-12 school setting.
  • Demonstrates expertise in educational technology integration.
  • Effective oral, written, and digital communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills for working with diverse stakeholders.
  • Demonstrates an understanding of instructional leadership and the peer coaching model.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct regular coaching cycles with teachers, focusing on goal setting, co-teaching, observation, and reflection on instructional impact.
  • Model effective instructional strategies and mentor teachers in using evidence-based technology strategies to meet diverse learner needs and promote student engagement.
  • Collaborate with instructional leadership to design, deliver, and evaluate professional learning events on instructional technology for staff.
  • Conduct technology integration cycles to gather student-focused data for teacher reflection and collaboration.
  • Model and promote the integration of digital citizenship and computer science into classroom lessons.
  • Provide direct technical assistance and training to teachers on specific hardware and software applications.
  • Interpret educational data from assessments, student feedback, and observations to help teachers adjust instruction.
  • Assist teachers in using technology for differentiated instruction and creating rigorous, relevant digital learning experiences.
  • Partner with teachers to develop PEERS goals and monitor progress towards improving student outcomes.
  • Design and conduct professional learning opportunities based on staff needs to equip teachers with technology-driven strategy implementation skills.
  • Participate in Professional Learning Teams (PLTs) and Collaborative Learning Teams (CLTs) to support collaborative lesson design and curriculum alignment.
  • Support teachers in aligning classroom instruction with state standards and district priorities through technology integration.
  • Engage in continuous professional growth, including participation in technology-focused learning networks.
  • Facilitate the implementation of division-level initiatives and content-based programs at the school level.
  • Act as a liaison for technical services, identifying and reporting technology issues through Help Desk protocols.
  • Collaborate with IT and central office personnel to plan strategies that align with school and program goals.
  • Attend all division-level meetings and professional learning sessions for Instructional Technology Coaches.
