About The Position

Under limited supervision, the Instructional Technology Coach (ITC) provides leadership in training and coaching teachers in comprehensive curricular programs. This role involves collaborating with faculty and instructional leaders to integrate software and Internet resources to support student learning, and assisting teachers in meeting subject-area and technology-learning objectives. The ITC will create learning resources, co-teach, mentor, and coach teachers in technology integration methodologies, and work with administrators to develop integrated lessons and effective strategies for meaningful technology use. The position also involves coordinating instruction to meet technology proficiency goals, recommending software, assisting in planning extended learning opportunities for students, assessing technology skill levels, and supporting district technology plans. The ITC will maintain activity logs and use positive communication skills. Additionally, the ITC participates in the school leadership team to support instructional initiatives.

Requirements

Must possess SC teaching certification.
Requires high school diploma or experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.
Knowledge and use of the state’s curriculum standards and assessment program.
Evidence of extensive ongoing training and professional development; utilization of best practices in teaching.
Must be physically able to operate a variety of machines and equipment including a computer, telephone, vehicle, etc.
Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time but may involve walking or standing for periods of time.
Requires the ability to compare and/or judge the readily observable functional, structural, or compositional characteristics (whether similar to or divergent from obvious standards) of data, people or things.

Responsibilities

Collaborate with faculty and instructional leaders on the successful integration of software and Internet resources, in support of student learning, and assist teachers in meeting standards for subject-area and technology-learning objectives.

Identify trends in software, curriculum, teaching strategies and other educational areas.
Assess technology skill levels of students, teachers, and staff to inform professional development and build teacher technology capacity.
Assist in the support and integration of building and district technology plans, as needed.
Maintain Activity Logs for reflection and accreditation purposes.
Use positive and effective interpersonal communication skills.
Assist classroom teachers in the incorporation of technological software into lesson plans.
