About The Position

Boyd County Public Schools seeks an Instructional Teacher Leader for the Early Childhood Academy. This role provides leadership and expertise in curriculum development, implementation, and assessment. The Instructional Teacher Leader will offer job-embedded professional learning to teachers through various methods, including modeling lessons, co-planning, co-teaching, peer observations, and training opportunities. The goal is to enhance a high-quality, research-based curriculum and assessment program to improve student outcomes and achievement.

Requirements

  • Hold a bachelor’s degree or higher.
  • Possess the required Kentucky certificate for the assigned position.
  • Have experience as a classroom teacher.
  • Demonstrate the ability to work effectively with students, parents, and adults.
  • Demonstrate the ability to communicate effectively with students, parents, and faculty.

Responsibilities

  • Support the development and ongoing revision of a comprehensive curriculum framework to meet district-established student outcomes.
  • Assist teachers in understanding and aligning with revised state standards according to the rotating schedule per Senate Bill 1.
  • Support teachers in strengthening the Professional Learning Community (PLC) process across the district.
  • Help teachers implement best practice instructional strategies through modeling, co-planning, co-teaching, peer observations, training, and feedback.
  • Support the implementation of cooperative learning structures to boost student engagement.
  • Assist teachers with lesson planning and identifying resources, tools, and programs to advance student learning.
  • Increase assessment literacy throughout the district via training and job-embedded opportunities like PLC meetings.
  • Support teachers in formative and summative assessment practices and data interpretation for student learning assessment.
  • Analyze district and state assessment data to evaluate instructional practices, resources, and strategies, targeting areas for improvement to increase student achievement.
  • Support teachers in reducing the number of students scoring novice on state assessments.
  • Support differentiated teaching and learning strategies to meet the needs of struggling and gifted students.
  • Support the response to intervention process to provide struggling students with effective interventions.
  • Collaborate with district administrators to create reports, manuals, guides, assessments, and other necessary documents.
  • Plan and present training opportunities for certified and/or classified professional learning needs.
  • Promote positive public relations with the community and school district through effective communication and interaction skills.
  • Attend and participate in assigned meetings to provide input and maintain communication.
  • Perform other duties related to the position as assigned by the Superintendent or designee.
