Requirements

  • Equivalent to two years of experience providing instructional support services for a unit or discipline, acting as a student assistant, or in producing materials or supplies related to the discipline required.
  • The ideal candidate is a highly adaptable and self-motivated professional with extensive experience using a variety of computer software programs, including Microsoft Office, PeopleSoft/Oracle, Qualtrics, databases, e-mail, and internet-based applications.
  • They possess a strong IT background with expertise in AV equipment and are trained in the setup and operation of electronic patient simulators or similar technology.
  • Able to work independently with minimal supervision, they demonstrate exceptional communication and customer service skills through professional telephone, e-mail, and interpersonal interactions.
  • The candidate has a thorough knowledge of standard office methods, practices, and procedures, along with the ability to quickly learn, interpret, and apply complex policies and procedures.
  • They thrive in fast-paced environments, exhibiting flexibility, adaptability, and a commitment to delivering efficient, high-quality support and service.
  • Ability to communicate with an ethnically and culturally diverse campus community.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in setting up and operating patient simulators (in person & computer based), or similar equipment preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Healthcare, or Information Technology is preferred.
  • Experience in healthcare simulation including maintenance, repair, and technical support of simulation equipment and/or medical device systems in a healthcare delivery setting, or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provides instructional, technical, and logistical support for the SON & Learning Center -Primary scheduler for SON rooms utilizing interactive calendar system. Assists Learning Center Director with the daily operation of Learning Center. Assists with SON student tracking systems.
  • Responsible for the Equipment and maintenance, supply purchasing, and inventory including for the Learning Center - Performs regular inspections of the classroom audio-visual equipment to ensure they are in proper working order. Ensures that simulation labs are kept orderly on a daily basis.
  • Assists faculty in simulation - Assists faculty with the setup and operation of equipment in the Nursing Learning Center including task trainers and simulation scenarios. Runs the simulators for simulation educational based activities.
  • Supervises work study students - Supervises the Learning Center work-study students with guidance from the Learning Center Director.
  • Monitors and schedules SON rooms and lab spaces - Monitors all rooms for functioning of equipment, replenishing of supplies, and general safety and cleanliness
