About The Position

The Mapleton School in Malvern, PA is seeking an Instructional Support Specialist to join their team. This role supports teachers by assisting with the academic, social, and behavioral needs of assigned clients. The specialist will help implement educational programming, provide individual tutoring, and offer one-on-one support to students with special needs. The Mapleton School utilizes a multi-sensory educational strategy and focuses on transitioning students from school to career with essential skills. Devereux's approved private schools aim to equip students with the tools needed to succeed upon returning to their local schools and communities. Students may attend as day students or as part of a residential treatment program, with each student having an Individualized Educational Plan (IEP) to guide their goals and strategies.

Requirements

• High School Diploma required.
• Associates Degree or completion of two years of post-secondary education from an accredited college or university preferred.
• Previous experience working in a special education or behavioral healthcare setting with students with severe/complex behavioral/emotional issues preferred.

Responsibilities

• Ensuring the health and safety of youth in the school
• Provide assistance with academic, social and behavioral needs.
• Support the teacher and administration's direction while supporting youth and reporting progress daily.
• Support and reinforce PBIS goals and objectives
