About The Position

Devereux Advanced Behavioral Health is seeking an Instructional Support Specialist to work with children within an educational environment focused on current treatment interventions for Autism. The role involves joining a multi-disciplinary team that utilizes a strengths-based approach, emphasizing applied behavior analysis and positive behavior supports. The Instructional Support Specialist will assist in creating a structured and conducive learning environment, guide students in socially appropriate behaviors, and ensure the welfare, safety, and location of children at all times. This position offers the opportunity to work directly with children diagnosed with Autism in a structured classroom setting alongside Special Education Teachers, a Behavior Analyst, and Autism professionals, thereby increasing knowledge and skills in behavior intervention, functional assessment, and team collaboration.

Requirements

High School Diploma required.
Previous experience working in a special education or behavioral healthcare setting with students with severe/complex behavioral/emotional issues preferred.

Nice To Haves

Associates Degree or completion of two years of post-secondary education from an accredited college or university preferred.

Responsibilities

Assist in establishing classroom environments that are conducive to maximum learning by maintaining structure and guiding students to socially appropriate behaviors.
Responsible for the children's welfare, safety, and location at all times, including during arrival and dismissal.
Work with the Special Education Teachers to implement skill acquisition and behavioral reduction programs individually and in small groups.
Perform ongoing data collection and record keeping as directed by Special Education Teacher.
Support and reinforce PBIS goals and objectives.
