About The Position

The work involves performing specialized non-instructional duties ranging from maintaining records to designing and writing curriculum for special courses in the administration of community education courses, seminars, workshops and special projects at the Community College. The incumbent may also perform other non-instructional duties relating to program courses development, placement and test administration, registration and advisement processes in the general academic area of the College. The work is performed under the supervision of a higher-level administrator. Supervision may be exercised over clerical and student assistants.

  • Completion of sixty (60) semester credit hours of study at a regionally accredited college or university
  • Graduation from high school or possession of a high school equivalency diploma and two (2) years’ experience relating to a community education specialized curriculum
  • An equivalent combination of training and experience

Responsibilities

  • Develops grants or special projects
  • Designs and/or writes curriculum for special courses, seminars or workshops
  • Assists in the writing or compilation of grant data
  • Meets with employers, special groups or requestors of training to determine needs for special courses or projects
  • Administers special projects, including labs
  • Assists in interviewing assistants for special projects
  • Researches and compiles statistical data for special projects
  • Develops marketing strategy and marketing documents for grants/projects and special courses
  • Coordinates instructor team assignments as assigned
  • Coordinates student recruitment and registration for special course projects
  • Coordinates room assignments and audio visual material for special programs or projects
  • Assists in student advisement, placement testing, and registration and program course development in all areas of the College
