About The Position

This role provides instructional support within the COMPASS Program. The successful candidate will assist in preparing instructional materials and may provide ancillary instruction under the direction of the classroom teacher. This position also acts as a resource person for student health issues and is expected to pursue ongoing professional development.

Requirements

• Previous successful experience with children.
• Ability to communicate successfully with staff and students.
• Ability to accept directions and work in a subordinate role.
• Previous experience working in an educational setting or with children.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation of instructional materials.
• Provide ancillary instruction if required under the direction of the classroom teacher.
• Act as a resource person concerning health issues for individual students.
• Assume responsibility for continuing own education and obtain consultation, supervision and peer review as needed.
