About The Position

The Department of Mathematics at CSU Fullerton invites applications for its Federal Work Study Instructional Student Assistant (Grader) Pool for the Academic Year 26-27. This position is for current CSUF undergraduate and graduate students in the MATH department to work with individual faculty to grade homework in Mathematics. This is a pool from which the department draws as necessary, and appointments are temporary, often made just prior to the start of the academic term, with potential for employment on very short notice. Under the direct supervision of a faculty supervisor, the Federal Work Study Instructional Student Assistant (Grader) will evaluate student homework and quizzes. Assignments have limited use of discretion and judgment. Work is regularly reviewed and may entail detailed instructions. Other job duties may be assigned by the individual faculty member.

Requirements

  • At least one recently completed college level math course with a grade of B.
  • Have the contact information for at least one prior college level mathematics instructor.
  • Competency to grade homework and quizzes in assigned math course.
  • Current student at CSUF and is enrolled/registered (fees paid) in at least 6 units in a current regular semester as a new or continuing student.
  • Student who has completed the prior semester (has not graduated), or who is registered for the subsequent semester.
  • In good academic standing (not on academic probation, continued probation, academic dismissal).
  • Student who is authorized to work in the United States and can provide eligibility documents.

Responsibilities

  • Other job duties may be assigned by the individual faculty member.
