About The Position

WisCARES is a non-profit outreach program of the School of Veterinary Medicine that provides veterinary care and social services to low-income pet owners. WisCARES trains future veterinarians, promotes interdisciplinary relationships and offers subsidized veterinary services to low income and unhoused individuals. This is an exciting and impactful position that allows you to provide much needed care and education in our community, while also being involved in teaching future veterinarians and veterinary technicians. We are hiring for a combination CVT and instructional specialist position. This will entail helping the WisCARES clinic maintain daily medical functions while also helping to manage the increased teaching load as more students experience WisCARES throughout the curriculum. This will include maintaining student communications, helping guide our new programs for preclinical students in their first and second year of veterinary school and help develop systems that ensure that the high quality of our clinical (year four) student rotation experience is maintained as we grow. We're seeking a highly motivated individual with excellent communication skills and a passion for teaching and continuous improvement. Experience with Microsoft Office Suite and Canvas is a plus, as is an interest in educational content creation. While this role involves physical demands, including standing for extended periods, lifting up to 40 pounds, and working with animals, the rewards of contributing to veterinary education are immense. If you're comfortable working in this environment and are eager to make a real difference, we encourage you to apply.
