About The Position

This role involves implementing instructional activities with students under the direction of a teacher or building principal. The paraprofessional will assist in preparing lesson plans and materials, collecting data, and managing student behavior. Responsibilities also include maintaining the classroom, assisting with various duties such as lunchroom, recess, and bus supervision, and participating in meetings and training. Adherence to confidentiality policies, particularly for students under IDEA, and school board policies is required. The position also includes performing other assigned duties.

Requirements

  • Associates Degree or 60 college hours or passed the Praxis ParaPro test
  • Will be required to complete dyslexia training as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Implement instructional activities with students as directed by the teacher and/or building principal.
  • Assist in the preparation of lesson plans, instructional materials, and data collection.
  • Assume responsibility for being prepared to perform instructional duties as prescribed by the teacher.
  • Implement behavior management techniques as directed by the teacher/supervisor.
  • Treat all students with dignity and respect.
  • Assist with the maintenance of the classroom.
  • Assist with duties including but not limited to the lunchroom, recess, bus, etc.
  • Participate in training, staffing, and faculty meetings as directed by the building principal and Administration.
  • Adhere to confidentiality policies and practices for students under IDEA as outlined by the teacher.
  • Follow any Prescott School Board Policy and/or practice.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the administration, building principal, and/or the supervising teacher.
