About The Position

The Math Instructional Coach provides leadership and instructional support to strengthen Tier I instruction and intervention in mathematics for students in grades K - 8. The coach partners with teachers, support staff, and school leadership to improve instructional practices, implement evidence-based math interventions, analyze student data, and ensure all students receive targeted support to meet academic growth goals.

Requirements

  • Valid Colorado Teaching License in Elementary Education or Secondary Mathematics preferred.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of successful classroom teaching experience.
  • Three (3) or more years of experience supporting math intervention or instructional coaching preferred.
  • Extensive knowledge of elementary mathematics instruction, intervention strategies, and best instructional practices aligned to the Colorado Academic Standards.
  • Strong understanding of assessment systems including CMAS, iReady, and other diagnostic and progress monitoring tools.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze student achievement data to drive instructional decisions and improve student outcomes.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, collaboration, coaching, and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience planning and delivering professional learning for teachers.
  • Ability to build positive relationships with teachers, support staff, administrators, students, and families.
  • Knowledge of evidence-based mathematics instructional practices and intervention programs.
  • Ability to interpret multiple sources of student achievement data.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills.
  • Effective communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to coach adults through reflective practice and continuous improvement.
  • Commitment to equitable instructional practices and high expectations for all students.
  • Proficiency with educational technology and data management systems.
  • Ability to move throughout classrooms and school buildings.
  • Ability to occasionally lift instructional materials up to 25 pounds.
  • Frequent standing, walking, sitting, bending, and computer use.

  • Federal Law states that the Charter School may not permit you to work more than three days without this documentation.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with school administration to evaluate and strengthen the school's mathematics program.
  • Provide regular feedback regarding the implementation and effectiveness of math instruction and intervention.
  • Support school improvement initiatives related to mathematics achievement.
  • Assess incoming students using district and state assessment data, including CMAS, iReady, and other screening tools.
  • Analyze student performance data to identify instructional needs and intervention placement.
  • Develop individual student math goals and monitor progress toward growth targets.
  • Maintain accurate records of student progress and intervention effectiveness.
  • Collaborate with teachers to identify students requiring additional math support.
  • Organize and adjust intervention groups based on student performance and ongoing assessment data.
  • Ensure interventions are evidence-based, data-driven, and responsive to student needs.
  • Monitor fidelity of intervention implementation.
  • Plan and co-plan lessons with grade-level teachers to strengthen mathematics instruction.
  • Model effective instructional practices and intervention strategies.
  • Support teachers in differentiating instruction to meet diverse learner needs.
  • Assist teachers in using assessment data to establish and monitor student growth goals.
  • Provide coaching cycles that include observation, feedback, reflection, and follow-up support.
  • Plan, facilitate, and support professional development focused on mathematics instruction, intervention, assessment, and data analysis.
  • Promote implementation of best instructional practices aligned to district curriculum and state standards.
  • Support collaborative Professional Learning Communities (PLCs) focused on continuous improvement.
  • Guide and coach support staff in effective instructional practices.
  • Train intervention staff on progress monitoring procedures, data collection, and intervention implementation.
  • Ensure intervention assistants consistently deliver high-quality small-group instruction.
  • Support intervention staff in maintaining accurate student progress records.
  • Work closely with classroom teachers, special education staff, English Language Development staff, support staff, and school leadership to ensure coordinated student support.
  • Participate in MTSS, data, and grade-level team meetings.
  • Foster a collaborative culture focused on improving student achievement in mathematics.
