About The Position

Hawkins County Schools is seeking an Instructional Coach to assist Central Office staff and school administrators in providing researched-based, best instructional practices to teachers. This role focuses on facilitating the intellectual and professional development of teachers, communicating and demonstrating effective instructional practices, supporting new teachers, and providing staff development. The coach will also be involved in data analysis, the Universal Screener and RTI process, and curriculum development.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree
• Five Years of teaching experience
• Proficiency with Curriculum Software
• Communicates well both orally and in writing
• Experience in research-based instructional practices

Responsibilities

• Facilitate the intellectual and professional development of teachers
• Communicate and demonstrate research-based instructional practices that result in increased student performance
• Support new teachers
• Provide staff development
• Be available to school administrators to analyze data
• Be proficient on the student Universal Screener and the RTI process
• Attend trainings and return to share information with teachers and administrators
• Act as a resource person to teachers
• Supports the curriculum development process
• Be well versed in research pertaining to best instructional strategies
• Serve on RTI District Committee
• Serve on individual school Student Support Committees
• Assist the Elementary and Middle/High School Supervisors in disseminating information into the schools
• Monitor intervention programs by observing and meeting with teacher
