Instructional Designer - Technology Focus
About The Position
The College of General Studies seeks an Instructional Designer (Technology Focus) to support the development, maintenance, and enhancement of online asynchronous and hybrid courses. This role emphasizes hands-on instructional technology, LMS course building, and digital media production. The position works collaboratively with faculty, instructional designers, and online learning staff to deliver engaging, accessible, and high-quality learning experiences. This is a temporary, project-based position reporting to the Supervisor of Online Instructional Design. This position offers a hybrid schedule. Requirements
- Master's degree in Multimedia Production, Instructional Design, Instructional Technology, Education, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience with a bachelor's degree.
- No prior professional experience required
- Familiarity with LMS platforms (Canvas preferred) and e-learning authoring tools (Articulate, Captivate, H5P, Powtoon, Storyline, Storyblocks, etc.).
- Proficiency with media production software (Adobe Creative Cloud, Camtasia, Panopto).
- Strong organizational, communication, and project management skills.
- Understanding of accessibility standards and online learning best practices.
Nice To Haves
- Experience with online course development, instructional technology, or digital media production is strongly preferred.
