About The Position

The Instructional Designer – HCM Change Enablement supports how employees learn and adopt new systems, tools, and ways of working. This role designs and develops learning experiences that build understanding, support behavior change, and enable adoption of Human Capital Management (HCM) systems and processes. As part of the Change Enablement team, this role works closely with HR Technology and process owners to translate complex changes into clear, intuitive learning experiences. The ideal candidate is creative, curious, and interested in using modern tools, including AI, to improve how people learn. This role is not limited to creating traditional training materials. You will develop learning and performance support in a variety of formats, explore AI-enabled tools to streamline content creation, and design content that meets employees where they are. You will contribute to a modern, forward-thinking Change Enablement approach by delivering high-quality learning assets and iterating based on feedback and results.

Requirements

  • Strong foundation in instructional design and adult learning principles.
  • Ability to design learning that supports adoption, not just knowledge transfer.
  • Experience with eLearning and content creation tools.
  • Strong communication skills with a focus on clarity and simplicity.
  • Comfort working across teams and adapting to changing priorities.
  • Curiosity and interest in new tools and approaches, including AI.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Instructional Design, Learning & Development, or related field.
  • 3–5 years of experience in instructional design or learning experience design.
  • Experience supporting system implementations or HR technology preferred.
  • Familiarity with Learning Management Systems (LMS) and digital learning delivery methods.
  • Familiarity with accessibility standards (WCAG/508).
  • Portfolio or work samples demonstrating digital learning solutions preferred.

  • Experience with AI tools, gamification, or modern learning formats.

Responsibilities

  • Design learning experiences that support adoption and behavior change.
  • Develop content such as eLearning, videos, job aids, and microlearning.
  • Simplify complex systems and process changes into clear, user-friendly materials.
  • Build modular content that can be updated for ongoing system releases.
  • Use tools such as Canva, Articulate, Adobe Captivate, Vyond, or similar.
  • Apply instructional design methodologies (e.g., ADDIE, SAM) and adult learning principles to create impactful, learner-centric solutions.
  • Review system updates (e.g., Workday, UKG) to identify learning impacts.
  • Partner with HR Technology teams to understand changes and translate them into learning solutions.
  • Design role-based scenarios and learning paths to support user adoption.
  • Support both project implementations and recurring system releases.
  • Collaborate with the Change Enablement Lead to align learning with adoption goals.
  • Partner with Project teams to integrate learning into change messaging and the overall people side of the change strategy.
  • Engage stakeholders and subject matter experts to gather input, validate content, and support successful adoption.
  • Coordinate with LMS administrator on delivery, metrics, and feedback.
  • Track learning effectiveness and adoption using simple metrics.
  • Update content based on feedback and system changes.
  • Continuously improve how learning supports change across the organization.
  • Explore new ways of delivering learning, including short-form, video-based, and digital-first content.
  • Interest in exploring AI-enabled tools to improve content creation and learner experience.
  • Test new approaches and refine learning deliverables based on feedback.
