The Instructional Coach provides support and assistance to all classroom teachers in the implementation of ISANA program goals. This role focuses on increasing the quality and effectiveness of classroom instruction through modeling, collaboration, co-planning, co-teaching, observations, and providing descriptive feedback. The coach also supports the implementation of effective instructional strategies, assists teachers in developing, implementing, and analyzing assessments for learning, English Learner Development, and infusing culturally relevant teaching strategies and scaffolding for diverse learners. Additionally, the coach identifies reading and math difficulties, plans intervention and accommodation strategies, and effectively implements Principles of Learning, Project Based Learning, and Culturally Relevant and Responsive Education. The role involves facilitating the implementation of the Common Core State Standards and ISANA instructional program, monitoring curriculum implementation, assisting teachers with curriculum and pacing, and guiding teachers in understanding and teaching state standards. The Instructional Coach also acts as a Data Coach, facilitating conversations using data to drive instructional decisions, collaborating with teachers to analyze student achievement data, and guiding teachers in using data to improve student learning. Furthermore, the coach serves as a Facilitator for Change, engaging teachers in reflective thinking about their instructional practices, fostering a safe and trusting environment, and demonstrating excellent listening and professional communication skills. As a Continuous Learner, the coach engages in professional development and reading, and practices and reflects on learned material. The role includes being a Professional Learning Facilitator, designing and facilitating effective professional learning opportunities, providing school-wide professional development, planning and facilitating grade-level meetings, and coordinating external presenters. The coach also acts as a Resource, identifying resources to enhance classroom instruction and student achievement, and sharing research and best practices. Finally, the coach supports School Leaders by communicating school and ISANA wide initiatives, participating in school improvement planning, maintaining professional relationships with parents, coaching teachers in parent meetings, and working with administrators and teams to plan and implement programs. The coach must also adhere to federal and state laws, charter policies, and directives from the Principal/Designee.
