About The Position

We are seeking a collaborative, student-centered Instructional Coach to support teachers in strengthening instructional practices and improving student outcomes. The Instructional Coach partners with teachers through coaching cycles that include co-planning, modeling instruction, classroom observations, co-teaching, and providing timely, actionable feedback. This position plays a critical role in supporting new teachers, assisting teachers who require additional instructional support, and advancing school-wide instructional initiatives. The successful candidate is an experienced educator with strong instructional expertise, excellent interpersonal skills, and a passion for developing teachers through collaboration and continuous improvement. Instructional Coach will directly support teachers in order to strengthen their instruction. This individual will model, co-teach, co-plan, observe, and give feedback to teachers on a regular basis. This individual will also ensure new teachers to SLCS and struggling teachers get frequent support to meet expectations. The instructional coach will also meet regularly with all teacher teams to help drive school-wide instructional initiatives.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in Education or related field
  • Pennsylvania Department of Education Teaching Certification
  • At least 5 years' experience as a classroom teacher
  • Strong understanding and experience in instructional coaching of teachers
  • Understanding and commitment to inclusive learning
  • Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment
  • Strong research, planning, and organizational skills
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to positively interact with students to encourage development
  • Experience with MS Office, Google Docs

  • Principal certification a plus
