About The Position

The Science Instructional Coach will engage with the rest of the Curriculum and Instruction team in planning, organizing, communicating, and monitoring evidence-based services with project partners and ensure alignment with specified project outcomes. The incumbent will oversee project management, participant management, and development of high-quality resources to support educators' professional growth in student-centered instructional practices, impacting student academic readiness.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in education or a related field.
  • 60 months of K12 education experience, which includes classroom experience.
  • 24 months of experience in developing instructional products.

  • A master’s degree in education or a related field.
  • 60 months of K12 education experience, which includes secondary science classroom experience.
  • 36 months of experience as a building leader, team leader, department chair, or curriculum coordinator.

Responsibilities

  • Design, organize, and deliver professional learning opportunities for sponsored program participants.
  • Facilitate and instruct engaging professional learning sessions, workshops, and seminars.
  • Provide one-on-one coaching and mentorship to stakeholders.
  • Utilize instructional technology tools to support online and blended learning opportunities.
  • Promote professional learning opportunities and encourage participation.
  • Support the sponsored project's adaptation of evidence-based practices through systematic search, review, and synthesis of existing literature.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to define research objectives for literature reviews.
  • Develop comprehensive search strategies to identify relevant literature sources.
  • Collect, organize, and catalog literature sources, evaluating their quality, relevance, and credibility.
  • Summarize key findings and insights from reviewed literature, identifying themes, trends, and gaps.
  • Offer evidence-based recommendations based on literature reviews to guide decision-making and project services.
  • Create, develop, and implement effective professional learning materials and programs.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to identify learning needs and performance gaps.
  • Define clear and measurable learning objectives for instructional programs.
  • Design comprehensive curricula or professional learning programs.
  • Develop educational content, including written materials, multimedia presentations, videos, e-learning modules, and assessments.
  • Select appropriate instructional methods and strategies, incorporating various pedagogical techniques.
  • Utilize instructional technology to enhance the learning experience.
  • Ensure instructional materials comply with relevant laws and accessibility standards.
  • Prepare and support professional learning facilitators.
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts and other professionals to ensure instructional design aligns with project goals.
  • Manage and facilitate effective communications within and outside the organization.
  • Engage in established internal communication strategies to stay informed and inform staff.
  • Manage external communications with students, families, educators, school leaders, and partners.
  • Develop and distribute content, including written materials, graphics, presentations, and multimedia.
  • Build and nurture relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with the management team to develop and execute communication strategies.
  • Measure and assess the team's implementation of services.
  • Collect data from field services and participant feedback.
  • Utilize reporting systems to document and communicate evaluation findings.
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation of services, partner interactions, and evaluation processes.
  • Implement key performance indicators (KPIs) aligned to sponsored research goals.
  • Support the planning and execution of team projects and initiatives.
  • Execute assigned project tasks, ensuring timely completion.
  • Communicate progress of assigned tasks to stakeholders.
  • Foster positive relationships with project stakeholders.
