About The Position

Bridge Preparatory Charter School seeks an experienced Instructional Coach to strengthen instructional practice and improve student outcomes through job-embedded coaching, professional learning, and collaborative planning. The Instructional Coach partners with teachers and school leaders to build instructional excellence across all content areas by supporting curriculum implementation, instructional planning, data-driven decision-making, and evidence-based teaching practices aligned with the school's instructional vision. The Instructional Coach serves as a thought partner to teachers, helping them refine instructional practice, improve student engagement, and increase academic achievement while fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional growth.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in Education or a related field required.
  • Valid New York State teaching certification required; certifications from other states are acceptable provided that the minimum of five years of successful elementary classroom teaching experience with demonstrated student achievement.
  • Minimum of two years of instructional coaching, teacher leadership, curriculum leadership, or comparable experience supporting adult learners.
  • Demonstrated success coaching teachers to improve instructional practice and student outcomes across multiple content areas.
  • Deep understanding of effective instructional practices, curriculum implementation, assessment, and differentiated instruction.
  • Experience using student data to drive instructional improvement.
  • Deep knowledge of the Science of Reading.
  • Strong facilitation, coaching, communication, and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to influence adult practice through collaboration, credibility, and instructional expertise.

Responsibilities

  • Provide individualized, job-embedded coaching through classroom observations, modeling, co-planning, co-teaching, and actionable feedback.
  • Build trusting coaching relationships that promote reflective practice and continuous professional growth.
  • Support teachers in internalizing curriculum and designing rigorous, standards-aligned instruction across all subject areas.
  • Model effective instructional strategies that promote student engagement, academic discourse, differentiation, and high expectations for all learners.
  • Coach teachers in planning and delivering instruction that meets the diverse learning needs of students, including students with language-based learning differences.
  • Analyze student achievement data, classroom assessments, and instructional evidence to identify trends and priorities.
  • Partner with teachers to use data to inform instructional planning, intervention, and acceleration.
  • Monitor progress toward instructional goals and support teachers in adjusting practice based on student outcomes.
  • Collaborate with school leadership to identify school-wide instructional strengths and opportunities for improvement.
  • Design and facilitate professional development aligned to school priorities and instructional initiatives.
  • Lead or support grade-level meetings, data meetings, and collaborative planning sessions.
  • Develop coaching resources, protocols, and instructional tools that promote consistency and excellence across classrooms.
  • Partner with school leadership to implement and sustain the school's instructional vision and priorities.
  • Support high-quality implementation of curriculum across content areas.
  • Promote research-based instructional practices, including the Science of Reading where appropriate, while supporting strong teaching and learning in mathematics, science, social studies, and specials.
  • Stay current on instructional research and best practices and translate that learning into teacher support and professional development.
