About The Position

Position Summary The Instructional Coach supports teacher development and instructional excellence through coaching cycles, observation and feedback, data-driven planning, and professional learning. The coach works closely with classroom teachers and school leaders to strengthen lesson quality, instructional delivery, learning culture, and student achievement. The ideal candidate is a strong instructional leader who is relational, results-driven, and skilled at translating curriculum and student data into actionable next steps for teacher practice.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required (Master’s preferred)
  • Valid teaching license/certification (as applicable)
  • 3+ years of successful classroom teaching experience with evidence of strong student outcomes
  • Strong knowledge of effective instructional practices and content pedagogy
  • Demonstrated skill in coaching adults, providing feedback, and building teacher capacity
  • Strong communication, organization, and interpersonal skills

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience as an instructional coach, lead teacher, or department/grade-level chair
  • Experience supporting elementary literacy and/or math instruction
  • Knowledge of high-impact instructional frameworks and data protocols
  • Experience in turnaround settings, charter schools, or high-performing schools serving diverse learners

Responsibilities

  • Implement coaching cycles that include co-planning, modeling, observation, and feedback
  • Provide timely, actionable feedback aligned to school instructional expectations and priorities
  • Support teachers in strengthening classroom routines, student engagement, and rigorous instruction
  • Facilitate reflective conversations and goal-setting to drive teacher growth
  • Support teachers with standards-aligned planning and effective lesson design
  • Help ensure fidelity of curriculum implementation while supporting differentiation and scaffolds
  • Support alignment of instructional practices across grade levels/teams
  • Support teachers in analyzing student work, assessment data, and progress monitoring
  • Help plan reteach cycles, interventions, and enrichment based on data
  • Collaborate with leaders to track instructional trends and student performance growth
  • Support delivery of job-embedded professional development (PD), PLCs, and learning labs
  • Build teacher capacity through micro-PD, planning supports, and instructional resources
  • Contribute to a strong adult culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement
  • Support walkthrough systems and instructional look-fors aligned to school goals
  • Partner with school leaders to strengthen instructional consistency and learning culture
  • Contribute to school improvement planning and instructional initiatives as assigned
