The Instructional Coach for Special Education Certification will provide technical assistance and direct support to teachers in implementing "best practice" strategies. This role involves attending trainings, researching current educational methods aligned with district and school initiatives, and assisting in the planning and design of in-service days for teachers and paraeducators. The coach will communicate district visions and initiatives to schools, parents, and the community, while also supporting principals in developing and initiating educational programs based on identified student and teacher needs. Program evaluation and analysis at both building and district levels are key responsibilities, as is offering guidance on school-wide initiatives such as program reviews, CSIP, and data analysis. The position requires attending bi-weekly meetings with Teaching and Learning Leaders to analyze data and trends, and to ensure vertical alignment. The coach will also serve on parent, faculty, and student groups as needed, facilitate committee meetings, and conduct professional development outside of normal school hours, demonstrating flexibility to meet teacher needs. Presenting professional development, observing classrooms, providing specific feedback, and assisting teachers in differentiating instruction for all students are crucial. A significant portion of the role involves collaborating with teachers to provide quality instruction for gifted and talented students, organizing independent learning opportunities, and assisting with the identification process, Infinite Campus requirements, and committee organization for gifted and talented students. Informing parents about enrichment opportunities and working with personnel to revise curriculum documents, develop units, common assessments, and career pathways are also expected. Additional instructional duties may be assigned by Teaching and Learning Leaders and/or the Associate Superintendent/Superintendent.
