The Center School, Mary Rowlandson Elementary School and Florence Sawyer School Organizational Scope: Instructional Assistants reports to the building principal and works at the direction of the classroom teacher under the Student Services Department. Through a lens of equity, provides students assistance in classroom and school activities consistent with their needs and the specific role of the Instructional Assistant. IAs may support inclusion classrooms, in special programs or in the regular curriculum. Candidates who possess a Registered Behavior Technician certification are highly desired for substantially seperate classrooms; the district will provide RBT training for candidates who do not currently possess the certification and is employed for a sub-seperate classroom.
