About The Position

Seeking Instructional Assistants to work with students with autistic support needs within the Neshamiy School District. This full-time, 10-month role starts on 08/19/2026 and is aligned with the school calendar, with opportunities for extended school year programs in the summer. Devereux is a large non-profit organization dedicated to providing services, insight, and leadership in behavioral healthcare, impacting over 10,000 children and adults annually.

Requirements

Must be 21 years of age or older.
Associates degree required.
At least one year of experience in an educational setting working required.

Nice To Haves

Experience with individuals with autism and/or other special education populations preferred.
RBT certification.

Responsibilities

Support and maintain classroom policies and procedures.
Assist students by modeling appropriate behavior, providing emotional support, and adopting a patient and friendly attitude.
Assist in the implementation of students’ individualized education program (IEP) and positive behavior support plan (PBSP) as directed by the teacher.
Assist with student personal needs, when required, including medical needs in conjunction with the school-based health or nursing staff.
Participate in meetings and in-service training programs as assigned.
Understand team goals and own role within the team.
Support team decisions and cooperate with others within and outside the team.
Utilize crisis physical intervention techniques under the direction of the teacher and as appropriate to the setting and the degree of threat to the safety of the student and others.
