About The Position

Christel House Indianapolis is seeking a part-time Instructional Assistant at DORS Northwest. Christel House DORS helps adults of all ages earn their Indiana Core 40 high school diploma. DORS provides extra support to ensure personal development and academic success for adult students, offering resources to help them overcome challenges. The organization is committed to empowering students through a rigorous and holistic education, fostering responsibility, respect, integrity, and independence.

Requirements

Associate's degree with some training/exposure to education and teaching
Ability and willingness to work collaboratively; maintaining cooperative and effective working relationships.
Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
Competency in using technology
Ability to report to work on a regular and punctual basis.
An agreement with the mission statement and goals of Christel House Schools.

Responsibilities

Assist students with assignments that reinforce learning concepts.
Monitor individual and/or groups of students for the purpose of providing a safe and positive learning environment.
Maintain a record of interventions and progress monitoring.
Provide ‘re-teaching’ and tutoring sessions around core instruction that was delivered by the classroom teacher.
Implement, under the supervision of the teacher, instructional programs and lesson plans for the purpose of presenting and/or reinforcing learning concepts.
Attend meetings and in-service presentations for the purpose of acquiring and/or conveying information relative to job functions.
Other duties assigned.
