About The Position

Christel House Indianapolis is seeking a full-time Instructional Assistant at DORS West. The role supports adult students working toward their Indiana Core 40 high school diploma, helping provide the additional support they need for academic success and personal development. The position is scheduled for 202 Days of Service and operates in alignment with Christel House Schools’ mission and goals.

Requirements

Two years of college with some training or exposure to education, or network equivalent.
Ability and willingness to work collaboratively and maintain cooperative, effective working relationships.
Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
Competency in using technology.
Ability to report to work regularly and punctually.
Agreement with the mission statement and goals of Christel House Schools.

Responsibilities

Assist students with assignments that reinforce learning concepts.
Monitor individual students and/or groups to provide a safe and positive learning environment.
Maintain records of interventions and progress monitoring.
Provide reteaching and tutoring sessions related to core instruction delivered by the classroom teacher.
Under teacher supervision, implement instructional programs and lesson plans to present or reinforce learning concepts.
Attend meetings and in-service presentations to acquire or convey information related to job functions.
Perform other duties as assigned.
