About The Position

Responsible for assisting the Exceptional Student Education (ESE) teacher(s) in providing a well-organized, smoothly functioning educational environment in which students with cognitive, physical, communication and emotional disabilities can take full advantage of the instructional program and available resources, under the direct supervision of a Highly Qualified Teacher.

Requirements

  • Associate Degree, completion of 60 semester hours of college or passing score of 457 on the ParaPro Assessment.
  • Satisfactory completion within 6-month period of Pediatric First Aid/Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)/Automated External Defibrillator (AED) training.
  • Satisfactory completion within 6-month period of First Aid training.
  • Satisfactory completion within 6-month period of Medication administration training.
  • Satisfactory completion within 6-month period of Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) training.
  • CPR and First Aid training must be completed every two years.
  • CPI training need to be kept current and renewed on an annual basis.

Nice To Haves

  • Highly qualified candidates who are willing to complete ParaPro testing during the 2023-2024 school year may be considered for employment.
