About The Position
Under the direction of the assigned supervisor, provides instructional assistance to students in a physical education setting. Assists in the supervision of students during physical education activities, provides support to the physical education teacher in the implementation of lesson plans, and performs related duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- Completion of two (2) years of college (48 semester units) or an Associate's degree.
- Passage of the WorkKeys assessment or equivalent.
- Experience working with children in an educational or recreational setting is desirable.
- Knowledge of basic physical education activities and safety procedures.
- Ability to communicate effectively with students, staff, and parents.
- Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team.
- Must be able to pass a background check.
Nice To Haves
- Experience working with children in a physical education setting.
- Bilingual skills (English/Spanish) are a plus.
Responsibilities
- Assists students in participating in physical education activities.
- Supervises students during physical education classes and activities.
- Supports the physical education teacher in implementing lesson plans and instructional strategies.
- Provides individualized or small group assistance to students as needed.
- Helps maintain a safe and orderly environment during physical education activities.
- Assists with the setup and cleanup of equipment and facilities.
- Monitors student behavior and reports any concerns to the teacher.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
