About The Position

This is a 10-month, Non-Exempt position with a salary scale of UA3, Grade G03 – G07. The Instructional Assistant - Inclusion will work in an instructional support role with high school/middle school aged children. The role involves assisting the teacher in planning and implementing instructional activities, providing reinforcement to individuals or small groups, and maintaining a safe and orderly environment. Regular attendance and substitute coverage are expected.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Experience working with children.
• Ability to work in an instructional support role with high school/ middle school aged children.
• Excellent human relations skills.
• Excellent organizational and communications skills.
• Knowledge of developmental stages of children.
• Good oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to plan developmentally appropriate activities as directed by the literacy teacher.

Responsibilities

• Assists the teacher in planning instructional activities and maintaining a safe and orderly environment.
• Works with individuals or small groups to provide instructional reinforcement after the literacy teacher delivers the instruction.
• Assists the teacher in making preparations for a lesson.
• Regular on-time attendance.
• Performs related duties as assigned by the principal.
• Required to provide substitute coverage as needed.
