About The Position

Instructional Assistant IIIs support students with severe/emotionally disturbed needs. This role involves working with students who have a Learning Handicap or Communicatively Handicap programs, or students designated as emotionally disturbed (ED), autism, or assigned to a Behaviorist to assist individual students. The position requires experience working with groups of children and is highly desirable for candidates with experience working with impaired children or adults, and coursework in child development.

Requirements

Relevant experience as listed on the application.
Passing score from SJUSD's Proficiency Exam (testing date must be April 2005 to current).
Official passing score from the California Basic Educational Skills Test (CBEST).
Official transcripts demonstrating the completion of two years of college (48 semester/60 quarter units).
Proof of an A.A. degree (or higher).
If degree/transcripts are from a foreign college or university, coursework must be evaluated for equivalency to a degree/transcripts from an accredited U.S. college or university.
Possession of, or willingness and ability to obtain a valid California Class C Driver License within 30 days of hire or before driving any equipment/vehicle requiring this license (in some programs).
