About The Position

The Instructional Assistant - Flex position at Mountain Trail Academy is responsible for assisting in the supervision and instruction of students under direct supervision. This role supports the teacher in overall classroom activities and handles routine clerical tasks. The goal is to provide a supportive learning environment for students.

Requirements

High School Diploma or Equivalent.
Ability to work well with students, staff, and parents.
Good verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to operate general office machines.
Ability to organize and to prioritize.
Experience working with elementary level students.
Must pass a background clearance.
Must obtain an Arizona IVP Level One Fingerprint Clearance Card.

Responsibilities

Works with individual students or groups of students to reinforce learning of material or skills initially introduced by the teacher.
Assists with independent study, enrichment work, and remedial work for the classroom.
Maintains the same high level of ethical behavior and confidentiality of information as is expected of teachers.
Participates in in-service training programs as required.
Exercises positive problem-solving behavior and conflict resolution skills.
Adheres to the dress code appropriate for the site and job.
Assists with the supervision of students during emergency drills, assemblies, play periods, lunch periods, and field trips.
Maintains the confidentiality of protected student and staff member information even after no longer being employed.
Being flexible.
Confers with teacher and parents, if requested by teacher, to assist in the evaluation of students' progress in relation to established educational objectives.
Performs other job-related duties as assigned to advance district priorities.
