About The Position

Working under the supervision of the reading teacher, this position provides instructional support and assistance to students with reading difficulties. The Instructional Aide will assist the teacher in implementing the instructional program, work with students individually and in small groups, and prepare instructional materials. This role also involves monitoring student activities, maintaining student progress records, and ensuring a consistent discipline program.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent
Works with students in a small group basis including students with reading difficulties.
Works in a timely and efficient manner.
Relates to students, parents and staff in a positive manner.
Ability to use word processing on personal computers.

Nice To Haves

Experience with children preferred.

Responsibilities

Assists the teacher in implementing the instructional program under the teacher’s direct or indirect supervision.
Works with students on a one-to-one basis and in small groups.
Makes and gathers materials and resources for instruction.
Monitors student activities as assigned (i.e., in classroom, on playground, on bus).
Follows teacher(s) directions to provide a consistent discipline program for students.
Observes, monitors, records student progress.
Performs additional duties as assigned by the designated supervisor(s).
