St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic School is seeking a part-time instructional aide for the 2026-27 school year to work with first graders. The ideal candidate has experience working with children, thinks being around them is a joyful endeavor, and enjoys being a positive member of a faith-filled team committed to serving others. The primary responsibility of the instructional aide is to enhance student learning. Aides assist students in the learning process by checking for understanding, partnering with students who learn at a slower pace or who need additional assistance, or doing anything else, at the teacher's discretion, that assists with or improves learning. Candidates must work and play well with others and must be willing to have Safe Environment clearance, including fingerprinting. The school term includes 190 work days and part-time hours (4.0 hours per day) to be determined by the Principal. General Summary of the Position: The educational support aide fulfills the mission of the school by assisting the classroom teacher in planning, guiding, and evaluating the learning process of the students in the Catholic school for whom the teacher is responsible within the framework of the school’s philosophy, organization, and curriculum. The classroom assistant helps the teacher prepare instructional materials, assists with students, and supports learning activities that have been defined by the teacher. The position is hired and evaluated by the principal.
