About The Position

We are seeking a dedicated and adaptable Instructional Aide to support learning across two elementary classrooms (either two 1st-grade classrooms or two 5th-grade classrooms). The primary responsibility of this role is delivering targeted small-group instruction, pulling student groups for intervention or enrichment, and managing learning activities under the guidance of the certified teachers.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent certification required.
  • Basic computer/technology literacy.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate’s degree, 60 college credits, or ParaPro Certification preferred.
  • Prior experience working with elementary-aged children in an educational or childcare setting preferred.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Patience.
  • Adaptability between two distinct classroom environments.

Responsibilities

  • Pull small groups of students for targeted reading, writing, and math interventions or enrichment activities.
  • Execute teacher-prepared lesson plans for small groups, adapting delivery to meet diverse learning needs.
  • Monitor independent student work and provide immediate feedback and guidance.
  • Assist in managing learning centers and rotation stations during core instructional blocks.
  • Support teachers in maintaining a positive, structured, and safe classroom environment.
  • Reinforce school-wide and classroom behavioral expectations using positive reinforcement.
  • Assist individual students who need academic, emotional, or behavioral focus during whole-group lessons.
  • Assist teachers with prepping instructional materials, copying, and organizing learning spaces.
  • Perform required supervision duties, including recess, lunchroom, drop-off/pick-up, or hallway monitoring.
  • Help administer and proctor informal classroom assessments or standardized testing as directed.
  • Communicate regularly with supervising teachers regarding student progress, behavioral observations, and group dynamics.
