Job Summary: We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Instructional Aides/ Paraprofessionals to join our educational team. The Instructional Aides will work collaboratively with teachers to support student learning and ensure a positive and productive classroom environment. This position is ideal for individuals passionate about education and helping students reach their fullest potential.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Previous experience working with children in a classroom setting is a plus.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, parents, and staff.
  • Patience, empathy, and a genuine desire to help students succeed.
  • Familiarity with the educational process and teaching strategies is desirable.
  • Ability to work as part of a team and take direction from teachers and administrators.
  • Basic computer skills and familiarity with educational technology are beneficial.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate’s degree or coursework in education or a related field is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the classroom teacher in implementing lesson plans and educational activities tailored to the needs of children.
  • Support individual and small group instruction to reinforce learning concepts and skills.
  • Supervise students during classroom activities, recess, and other school-related events, ensuring their safety and well-being.
  • Assist with classroom management by promoting positive behaviors and addressing any behavioral challenges with appropriate strategies.
  • Support the preparation and organization of teaching materials, classroom set-up, and activities.
  • Maintain open communication with teachers, parents, and other staff regarding student progress, challenges, and important updates.
  • Assist in the assessment of student performance and behavior.
  • Adapt instructional methods and materials to accommodate students with varying needs and learning styles.
  • Participate in staff training, professional development, and team meetings to enhance skills and knowledge related to special education practices.
  • Help create a welcoming and inclusive classroom environment that fosters emotional and social development.
