About The Position
Ascend is a multidisciplinary company that provides Speech, Occupational, and Physical therapy to children in various settings, including home-based, outpatient clinics, and inclusion preschools. We are seeking a school-based Instructional Assistant to join our team, serving hundreds of children across California. This role involves supporting teachers in a preschool classroom setting, directly working with preschool-aged students in a hands-on, in-person capacity. Requirements
- High school diploma
- Prior professional experience working with children

Responsibilities
- Tutor students individually or in small groups to reinforce and follow up learning activities.
- Assist in the management and shaping of student behavior through the use of positive reinforcement strategies.
- Auditory and visual monitoring of students both inside the classroom and during outside activities.
- May perform clerical duties such as filing or duplicating materials.
- Use computer to maintain student records, attendance and files.
- Maintain student discipline in the absence of the teacher.
- Assist in maintaining a neat, orderly, and attractive learning environment.
- Perform all related duties as assigned.
